Friends with Kids: Wave 2

Christina and I want to have children.

I'm now witnessing the arrival of a new, second era of children of my peers. The eras as I know them are:

1. Surprise blessings
   
2. White picket fence, planned, storybook families, married, own a home in the suburbs, etc.

Of the first wave I know a half-dozen or so, bright little lasses and laddies the bunch. The second wave is just starting in my life, as close mutual friends of ours just had their first child. At the risk of speaking incorrectly for her (she'll just comment on this post if I do), Christina and I are jealous. Don't get me wrong; we've been jealous of the first wave for quite some time as well, often discussing our envy of those who are accidentally introduced to the most challenging and rewarding experience of their lives (parenthood, not FarmVille). Now that the second wave is upon us, we're super jealous.
