Most of the readers of this blog have probably heard through other channels, but I can't very well go back to blogging about other things without at least mentioning it.
So let me tell you how it all went down. On second thought, I'll let my fiancée do that:
In order to carry out his plan, Duane plotted with my sister Laura for 3 weeks. He secretly flew out to DC over the weekend and then surprised me on Sunday morning while Laura and I were hiking on the Billy Goat Trail in Great Falls. The Billy Goat Trail is the first place Duane and I ever hiked together, so it was quite the sentimental location for him to pop the question. And there's really nothing to get your nerves going like seeing your boyfriend emerge in a place you're absolutely not expecting him to be. As I'm sure you've already heard or assumed, I said "yes, of course!" To make this experience even more perfect, Duane topped it all off with a cozy picnic replete with champagne, raisins, and Skittles (three of my favorite things!) overlooking the Potomac River. It was a gorgeous setting, a gorgeous day, and now I have a gorgeous man inside and out to call my fiancé.Isn't that nice? There were Skittles!
THE FUN BEGINS
If you know anything about how well Christina plans for things (e.g. our trips through Africa, Guatemala, etc.), you know that we already have a wedding planning spreadsheet. If you know anything about how much I like to turn things into nerdy projects, you know that said spreadsheet is awesome.
