Sardine Tsunami!

"Sardine Tsunami" was Julia's idea...

In about a half an hour the tsunami from the gigantic Japanese earthquake will hit Southern California, estimated to be about 2 ft high where I live.

This, coupled with the 100 tons or so of dead fish in King Harbor, means we're buckling down for a sardine tsunami!

Update 8:21 AM: Tina pointed out that 95% of the first 50 tons of dead fish have been removed from the harbor, returning it to the nominal level of dead fish. There are still an estimated 30 tons yet to get explodey and float up to the surface.

Update (day after): Reported surges in the harbor have done minimal damage to a few boats yesterday, but I didn't see any 2 ft waves within a good 20 minutes straddling the estimated time that people along the beach had anticipated. People gathered, all turned away tsunamiless.
